Community involvement
Our school values strong partnerships with our families and community. Parents and carers can get involved through our Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) or by volunteering at our school. Your time and support help make our school a better place for everyone.
Parents and Citizens Association (P&C)
The P&C is a great way to support your child’s education. Parents and community members meet once a month to discuss how the school community can work together to provide opportunities for the students in our school. The Principal attends the P & C meetings and provides the opportunity for discussion about any issues that may affect your child’s education and their time spent at Inverell Public School.
A sub-committee of the P&C is the Canteen Committee. The P&C’s major fundraisers are the Bi-annual School Concert and the Walkathon. The P&C also runs Mother’s and Father’s Day stalls and various raffles throughout the year.
In the past, fundraising by the P&C has assisted the school by:
- purchasing interactive whiteboards,
- purchasing red blazers for school representatives to wear at formal functions
- purchasing curtains and blinds for classrooms
- undertaking landscaping
- purchasing playground equipment
- funding Rewards Day activities
- assisting students with the costs involved in school representation at a high level, and
- funding an extensive upgrade of the Kindergarten to Year 2 playground area.
The P&C meet on Thursday in Weeks 3 and 8 of school Term, from 6.30-8pm, in the school staff room.
If you can't attend meetings, you can become involved in other ways such as cooking BBQs, helping out on various stalls, attending working bees, volunteering in the canteen.
The Inverell Public School P&C values and appreciates everyone's views and contributions. If you can spare a little time and would like to become more involved in our wonderful school community, we would love to see you at our next meeting.
