The school is concerned that all students participating in outdoor activities, including play, should be protected from skin damage caused by the sun.
To achieve this, the school has implemented the following measures:
- There are a number of shade areas available to students during recess and lunch.
- The library is open for student use during lunch (except Friday).
- The school has a playground policy of: "No sun safe hat, play in the shade". This policy includes PE activities and sport.
A sun-safe hat is a hat with an all-round brim.
